Opening for PhD in Data science for continuous EEG monitoring in Intensive Care Patients 80-100%"
We are looking for Switzerland based PHD student looking to apply their skills to real-world healthcare data and work as member of new DIZH project “SonNEEM - Sonified neurological EEG events monitoring”!
The candidate will work on developing signal processing and machine learning algorithms for detecting burst suppression patterns and epileptiform activity in continuous EEG. A key part of the role will be integrating these algorithms into the ICU cockpit infrastructure, which is already in clinical use in two ICUs at USZ.
The position is structured as approximately 80% research (PhD) and 20% software development, giving the candidate the opportunity to contribute both scientifically and technically. The position starts earliest in November 2025, ideally as soon as possible and with a funding secured for 2 years and the possibility of extension.
